ELENA MARKOVA, ALEXANDRA ZAYTSEVA – THE LINGUO-DIDACTIC VALUE OF THE FIGURATIVE BASIS OF THE NOMINATION IN THE SLAVIC AUDIENCE

Abstract: This article considered the inner form of a word in a linguo-didactic function. The aim was to identify the special role of the inner form of words in the related, Slavic, audience. The inner form formed by the feature of the subject is the figurative basis of the nomination. Developing this thesis, the authors prove that the figurative basis of a word not only verbalizes the result of a person's cognitive activity and acts as an explicator of linguocultural information, but also carries out a mnemic connection between the nominee and the nominated object. This helps learners to memorize words when learning a foreign language and when reproducing them during speech. Using the comparative method (the comparison of Russian, Czech, Slovak, Bulgarian), as well as methods of seminal, component, word-formation, and etymological analysis, the authors demonstrate the significant linguo-didactic potential of the inner form of lexical units within a Slavic audience. It can be concluded that, from the point of view of Russian native speakers, even non-motivated words are found to be motivated from the point of view of native speakers of other Slavic languages. This is due to the preservation of common Slavic roots within these languages that verbalize the figurative basis.

Keywords: image of the nomination; motivational feature; inner form of the word; linguodidactics; Slavic languages.

PATRÍCIA MOLNÁROVÁ – KULTÚRNO-AXIOLOGICKÝ POTENCIÁL BIBLICKY MOTIVOVANÝCH KRYCÍCH NÁZVOV AKCIÍ NAKA V MEDIÁLNOM KONTEXTE (CULTURAL AND AXIOLOGICAL POTENTIAL OF BIBLICALLY MOTIVATED COVER NAMES FOR NAKA ACTIONS IN A MEDIA CONTEXT)

Abstract: The subject of the analysis in this paper is a set of nine cover names of NAKA operations carried out in 2020 – 2022, which are anchored in stylistically symptomatic, religious, or biblizing lexis. We are concerned with their semantics, symbolic dimension and axiological potential in relation to the media image of the Slovak political scene. The aim of the analysis is a) to verify the actuality of the lexemes and their shift on the axis of inherent – contextual expressiveness, considering the socio-cognitive dimension of political discourse; b) to interpret the values carried by the chosen denotations in relation to the media image of the contemporary local political scene. The study is a partial output in the research on the value and evaluative potential of contextual expressivity in online periodicals and the media image of the political scene in contemporary postmodern society. The results of the research demonstrated both evaluative and persuasive functions, as well as the potential to modify the existing media image of the political scene and to direct it towards a positive apperception, e.g. by creating an image of an active stance against the current social negatives – corruption, lying, deceit and nepotism. The resulting findings also outlined perspectives in an interpretative line for further research.

Kľúčové slová: biblizmy, elektronické médiá, kontextová expresivita, mediálny obraz sveta, politika.

NATALIA SHUMEIKO, MÁRIA SPIŠIAKOVÁ – DOES THE INTERNATIONALIZATION OF TERTIARY EDUCATION IN SLOVAKIA IMPACT LANGUAGE TEACHING?

Abstract: Language teaching for university students in Slovakia is seen as a fundamental instrument for effectively implementing internationalization strategies in tertiary education. The accomplishment of these strategies is one of the priorities of national policy in the Slovak Republic. Promoting the ideas of internationalization in tertiary education by enhancement of the content of the study programs is a vital step toward improving training. Curriculums in a foreign language and methodological-educational support for carrying out graduate programs' purposes contribute to realizing internationalization strategies. Foreign language proficiency is considered a critical tool for improving the quality of graduate training, preparing highly skilled personnel proficient in foreign languages, including English and Spanish, knowing political and social terminology, and understanding how to use international political tools in professional activities. It is stated that implementing internationalization strategies into university spaces in Slovakia and the public throughout the country is essential for national development policy.

Keywords: language teaching, internationalization, policy, tertiary education, English, Spanish, academic mobility.

DIDACTICS AND METHODOLOGY OF TEACHING AND FOREIGN LANGUAGES

JANA KUCHAROVÁ, INGRID KUNOVSKÁ – AUTONÓMNE UČENIE AKO SPôSOB PODPORY MOTIVÁCIE UČIACICH SA (AUTONOMOUS LEARNING AS A WAY TO SUPPORT LEARNER MOTIVATION)

Abstract: The modern educational process is currently characterized by a shift of attention from the teaching process to the learning process. In the process of streamlining education, it is necessary to apply creative learning methods, develop the cognitive area, at the same time take care of the emotional side, modernize the content, methods and forms of work, equip schools with modern didactic technology and achieve computer literacy among all students. Teaching foreign languages also requires well-organized and elaborate training, experienced and motivated teachers, an effective method and, last but not least, the right technique. In the presented paper, we want to point out the importance of autonomous learning as a support for motivation to study foreign languages. At the same time, we will focus on the teacher and his role in the process of autonomous foreign language learning.

Keywords: autonomy, autonomous learning, motivation, motivational strategies, teacher, communicative approach.
