Abstract:
This paper represents a comparative study focussing upon the process of assimilating the learned loanwords in the lexicons of the Romance languages in the Age of Enlightenment. It is a segment of synchronic analysis in the history of the enrichment and updating the Neolatin vocabulary through erudite means. The analysis of this process is preceded by an ample discussion of the concept of mot savant (Fr.)/ cultismo (Sp.) drawing upon a corpus compiled on the basis of the data comprised in Dictionnaire des emprunts latins dans les langues romanes. The profile of the new Romance lexicons is commensurate with the new social, economic and cultural paradigms in the history of Neolatin countries. The stratum of erudite lexical borrowings in the 18th century meets the demands of a society opening up towards the current epoch. It was during the 18th century that specialized idioms crystallized and, as far as the Romanian language is concerned, this century marked the inception of the scientific terminologies.

Abstract
The study aims to analyze two different conceptualizations of comparative literary studies - one by a Spanish scholar (C. Guillén) and the other by a Slovak one (D. Ďurišin). It focuses on the circumstances of development of this discipline on the basis of particular sources and impulses with regard to the geographic limits of the study. In the first part, the notion of supra-nationality is characterized as an effort to free oneself from the narrow frame of national literary history. C. Guillén was very aware of the tension between the local and the universal, or the particular and general, which, according to him, requires the scholar to transcend conventional approaches and respect the reader's ordinary experience. On the other hand, Slovak comparative literary studies had different points of departure. The Slovak comparatist D. Ďurišin took many impulses from the Russian formalists, who focused particularly on the issues of the national literary development.
Keywords: comparative literary studies, historicist-critical approach, literary theory, genetic-contact method, russian formalism, receiving literature, universalism, national literature/world literature.

Abstract
This article analyzes a subgroup of proper nouns, specifically the names of trademarks and commercial products that have undergone the appelativization process. Two languages are analyzed and confronted, Spanish and Slovak, because the existent differences can create difficulties when translating or interpreting from Slovak into Spanish (and vice versa) or lack of understanding if the brand is unknown or little known among users of the other language.
Keywords: chrematonymum, appelativization, registered mark, trademark, the Spanish language, the Slovak language.

Abstract
In this paper we take a closer look at some Hispanic lexical items that occur in the travel novel Prechádzka po Patagónii (Walk in Patagonia) by the Slovak writer Martin Kukučín, based on his experience in Patagonia, where he stayed for 15 years. We are concerned with those aspects related to the variation between Peninsular Spanish and the Spanish of Latin America, because many of the hispanicisms in Kukučín's text are actually Latin American Spanish words, especially Argentinian and Chilean words. The paper presents the results of a corpus-based study and the lexicographical treatment of diatopic variation.

Abstract
The Spanish used today by Peruvian presents some peculiarities, the most notorious for the lexical field. These features can be seen both in the cult, literary, formal, informal, oral or written language use. The origen of these phrases or terms is adaptation of linguistic patrimony or neologisms and also Indian phrases (especially the Quechua or Aymara). These terms or phrases used in Peru are often called peruanismos, although it can´t claim that its use is confined to the Peruvian territory. It is the colloquial register where you can find greater lexical variety, which often serves as inspiration for artistic production (film, theater, literature, etc.), journalistic or commercial. Thus, that this study aims to approach the Peruvian colloquial Spanish.
Keywords: peruanismos, Peruvian lexicon, Peruvian colloquial, Spanish in Peru.

Abstract
The first and so far the last integral (although not complete) translation of Don Quixote into Slovak, by an important Slovak romanicist Jozef Felix, appeared in 1950. However, it is more than probable that the great Cervantes's work had resonated in the Slovak cultural environment long before 1950 and by that time it became a deeply rooted symbol in our cultural context. Therefore, we are interested in the ways through which the gentleman of La Mancha and his squire came to the Slovak readers. In the present study, we examine Slovak daily newspapers and magazines from that period, published no later than in the 1950s.

Abstract
The main objective of the present study is the comparative analysis of the two novels: The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha (1605, 1615), by Miguel de Cervantes, and Last vision of Don Quixote (Posledná vízia Dona Quijota, 1999), by the Slovak writer Ján Švidroň (1952-2014). The author of the present paper studies their intertextual relationships-genre, formal structure and character development-focusing on the character of Cide Hamete Benengeli and his protagonism in both of the novels. Furthermore, the author compares the functions of the fictitious author present in Don Quixote and his continuation and modifications in the novel written by Švidroň.

Abstract
This work focuses on the problematics of the theories of the fantastic and the space-time breakdowns in Julio Cortázar's (1914-1984) oeuvre. For the analysis I will use two theories of the fantastic. Tzvetan Todorov in his The Fantastic: A Structural Approach to a Literary Genre, distinguishes between three main categories: the strange, the fantastic and the marvelous. Another critic, Ana María Barrenechea, divides the fantastic into these three categories: the natural, the unnatural and the mixture of both. As an example I will use four of Cortázar's tales (Lejana, Continuidad de los parques, La noche boca arriba, El otro cielo), on those I will apply the mentioned theories. The entire text is supplemented by David Roasʻs comments and definitions, who also clearly explains the origin of the fantastic.

Abstract
The process of deconstruction of Literary theory has meant a shift within criticism. It has been questioned the effectiveness of Hermeneutics as philological methodology. In that respect, it is paradigmatic how the interartistic comparison operates as a productive tool to neutralize the instability of some poetic compositions which seem to confirm the postmodern thesis. To discuss the issue, this paper proposes the reading of a pictorial encomium by Pedro Espinosa from the interartistic comparison scope, in order to justify precisely its effectiveness in regards to a better understanding of the meaning of literary works.

Abstract
During World War I (1914 – 1918) the European continent was diminished to the theater of war, bringing peoples of continental extremes together and making them closer. To manage this, they were forced to find quick answers to many questions, particularly the “new” nations and regions, which were appearing in the reports of the battlefronts. So, the maps of Europe, completed by revolutions and national movements of 1917 – 1920, were renewed. This paper is aimed to reveal the case of Ukraine’s synthesis of the nation’s name and the territory it corresponds with other “new” national states which appeared in the view of Western Europeans and led to remarkable changes in the mind mapping.

Abstract
The language is the means we use to communicate. For this reason it is imperative to have good communicative skills, either oral or written, to be able to make oneself understood. Various elements play a key role in developing these skills. For this reason, to understand communicative skills appropriately, they need to be studied and analysed from an interdisciplinary point of view. In this work, we have grouped some of these elements into three groups: the teacher and their attitude towards their students, the pragmatics as a tool that makes systematic teaching posible, and grammatical competence since mastering grammar is essential to learning a foreign language.

Abstract
The interest in Spanish literature both in the Czech Republic and Slovakia is old and proof of this are the many translations of classic Spanish literary works. This paper’s intention is to analyze the dramaturgical production of one of the most important authors of the Golden Age: Lope de Vega, who was nicknamed freak of nature due to the 1,500 theatrical plays he claimed to have written and of which today three hundred are preserved. It could be affirmed that in the fifties of the twentieth century there was a translation-boom in both languages (eleven Czech versions and three Slovak versions). This work, besides presenting a list of all the translations, tastes and preferences for some works, absence of others, different versions of the same title -among other aspects-, intends to analyze the reasons for the differences and coincidences of that list.

{slider title="Mónica SÁNCHEZ PRESA - TOWARDS COMMON ECONOMIC AND MONETARY UNIONS (Smerom k spoločným ekonomickým a monetárnym úniám)" scroll="true"}
Abstract
The verbal prefixation is one of the most characteristic ways of the word-formation in Slovak and other Slavic languages and definitely the most productive one. The prefix acts not only on the grammatical level but also in the lexicon by modifying the meaning of the verbs with the elements of localisation, directionality, temporality and modality. The Spanish language does not use the prefixed verbs to express the development of a verbal action, which is thus expressed using other means such as periphrastic constructions or, especially, the lexical means. When translating the prefixed verbs into Spanish, the translators can use a number of procedures, both standard and creative ones, which are necessary to transmit the functions of the prefixes. What seems clear is that if one wants to avoid errors in translation, it is important to be acquainted in detail with the different semantic nuances that the prefixes provide to the verb.

Abstract
This article examines the novel “El tiempo entre costuras” which, despite being the first one written by María Dueñas, has become a bestseller. The main objective was to outline a textual analysis applied to the translation into Italian resorting to some general concepts of text grammar and to two of the main characteristics of such texts such as coherence and cohesion. At the same time, and to describe the clause structure from an informative point of view, concepts of theme and rheme (known and unknown elements, respectively) were approached. Furthermore, Translation Studies coincide when one considers translation as a communicative act occurred under circumstances of social realization. Pragmatics offers many resources and the possibility to analyze texts without any rigidity and, eventually, Translation Strategies allow to identify equivalence within the translation contexts.
